
Director (Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies)
Professor Terry Hughes is the director of the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies, and an elected fellow of the Australian Academy of Science. A recurrent theme in his research is the application of new scientific knowledge toward improving management and governance of marine environments. In December 2016, he was recognized by Nature magazine as one of the ten people who mattered that year for his work on climate change and coral bleaching. Earlier this year, Professor Hughes received the 2018 Climate Change Award from H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco.
