
Representative Southeast Asia and Myanmar (IWMI)
Dr. Sonali Senaratna Sellamuttu has over 16 years of research experience in natural resource management, sustainable livelihoods and poverty-related issues, especially in the context of agricultural and aquatic systems (including wetlands). She was the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) Representative on Ramsar’s Scientific and Technical Review Panel (STRP) in 2013-2015, in addition to being the Lead for the STRP Working Group on Wetlands and Poverty Eradication (2013-2015). Currently, she is the Co-Chair for the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) Asia-Pacific Regional Assessment (2015-2018). Sonali holds a doctoral degree from Imperial College London (UK).
