Aquaculture for Low Income Consumers (AquaLINC)

Aquaculture for Low Income Consumers (AquaLINC) aims to increase supplies of affordable and nutritious fish for poor consumers. It explores innovative methods to produce smaller tilapias, and test fish-feeding approaches to improve the nutritional quality of fish for consumption.

Trials are being conducted on farms and research stations to evaluate the economic and technical feasibility of producing smaller and more nutritious fish. The project is also surveying households, retailers and consumers to understand fish-buying behavior and test acceptability of the new tilapia products.
